Day 1 | Arrival in Beijing: Pick-up → Hotel Check-in

Summary: Our driver will meet you at Beijing Capital Airport or high-speed railway station, then transfer you directly to your hotel for check-in. Highlights: Start your journey without the trouble of hailing taxis or navigating unfamiliar roads. If you arrive early, you can take a casual walk around the hotel to get used to the local weather and save energy for the coming sightseeing. Your tour guide will contact you in advance to confirm the next day’s schedule and collect ID information for attraction reservations. Dinner is on your own. You may explore local snacks near your hotel.

Day 2 | Royal Culture along the Central Axis: Tiananmen Square → Forbidden City → Peking Duck Lunch → Temple of Heaven → Qianmen Street → Return to Hotel

08:00 Tiananmen Square Attraction feature: The heart of Beijing and a national landmark sitting on the core of Beijing Central Axis. You can overlook the Monument to the People’s Heroes, the Great Hall of the People and the National Museum of China. It is a great place to learn about modern Chinese history and take iconic photos. ⚠️ Real-name reservation required. Please bring your original ID card and prepare for strict security checks.

09:00 The Palace Museum (Forbidden City) | 3 hours visit Attraction feature: The world’s largest and best-preserved ancient wooden imperial palace complex, home to emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties for 600 years. Walk along the central axis to see Hall of Supreme Harmony, Hall of Central Harmony, Hall of Preserving Harmony, Palace of Heavenly Purity, Hall of Union and Palace of Earthly Tranquility. Your guide will introduce royal rituals, architectural wisdom and the meaning of mythical beasts on roof ridges. Explore the six eastern and western palaces where imperial concubines once lived, and admire classical garden design in the Imperial Garden. The red walls and golden roofs show the grandeur of ancient imperial power.

12:00 Lunch: Authentic Peking Duck Meal Taste traditional fruit-wood roasted Peking duck. Wrap crispy duck skin and meat in thin pancakes, served with side dishes like shredded pork with sweet bean sauce. Enjoy Beijing’s signature dish.

13:00 Temple of Heaven Park | 3 hours visit Attraction feature: UNESCO World Heritage Site, an imperial altar where emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties prayed to heaven for good harvests. Must-sees: Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests, Circular Mound Altar and Echo Wall. Experience the amazing acoustic effects: whispers travel far along the Echo Wall, and the special sound effect at the Heart Stone on Circular Mound Altar. The buildings carry elegant oriental aesthetics, surrounded by dense ancient cypress trees with a peaceful atmosphere.

15:00 Qianmen Street Attraction feature: The “Heavenly Street” from the Ming and Qing dynasties, a century-old commercial street in old Beijing. It features vintage trams and time-honored brands including Tongrentang, Neiliansheng and Ruifuxiang. Wander through Dashilan, try local snacks and shop for cultural souvenirs, tea or traditional cloth shoes. Immerse yourself in the old Beijing market vibe. After sightseeing, private transfer back to your hotel.

Day3 | Great Wall & Ancient Hutongs: Mutianyu Great Wall → Local Beijing Cuisine Lunch → Nanluoguxiang → Return to Hotel

08:00 Departure from hotel to Mutianyu Great Wall 10:00 Mutianyu Great Wall | 3 hours visit Attraction feature: Famous for the saying “Among all sections of the Great Wall, Mutianyu stands out”. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with over 90% forest coverage and fewer crowds compared with Badaling. Many foreign state leaders choose Mutianyu when visiting China. First built in the Northern Qi Dynasty and reinforced by General Xu Da and Qi Jiguang in the Ming Dynasty. The iconic Zhengguantai is a unique structure with three watchtowers connected side by side, equipped with battlements on both sides for defence. Optional cable car / toboggan for easier access. Stand on the ramparts and overlook rolling mountains to feel the grandeur of this thousand-year-old frontier defence.

12:30 Lunch: Authentic local Beijing dishes such as Beijing stews and Zhajiangmian (noodles with soybean paste). 13:30 Head to Nanluoguxiang 16:00 Nanluoguxiang | 1 hour visit Attraction feature: A well-preserved Yuan-dynasty hutong. The main lane is lined with dozens of smaller side alleys, hiding many former residences of celebrities. Grey bricks and tiles keep the original layout of Beijing siheyuan (courtyard houses). You can browse creative souvenir shops and taste street food. Experience the mix of old traditions and trendy culture in Beijing hutongs. Transfer back to hotel after the tour.

Day4 | Imperial Garden & Water Town: Summer Palace → Copper Pot Hotpot Lunch → Prince Gong’s Mansion → Shichahai → Return to Hotel

08:00 Depart hotel for Summer Palace 10:00 Summer Palace | 3 hours visit Attraction feature: China’s largest surviving imperial landscape garden and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built around Wanshou Hill and Kunming Lake, it blends southern Chinese garden aesthetics. Highlights: the 728-meter Long Corridor painted with thousands of paintings of landscapes and stories, Foxiang Pavilion (the highest point of the garden), Marble Boat and 17-Arch Bridge. The lake and mountains create picturesque views. It was the summer retreat for Qing emperors. Optional boat cruise on Kunming Lake for unique lake-side views.

12:30 Lunch: Old Beijing copper pot mutton hotpot. Enjoy tender lamb cooked in plain charcoal soup, the classic Beijing hotpot. 13:30 Prince Gong’s Mansion | 2 hours visit Attraction feature: As the old saying goes, “One Prince Gong’s Mansion tells half of Qing Dynasty history”. It is the largest preserved prince’s residence in the Qing Dynasty and once the home of Heshen. The complex consists of residential quarters and a big garden with delicate carvings, rockeries and the famous Blessing Stele. Your guide will share stories of powerful nobles, explain the feng shui design and show you the exquisite architecture of aristocratic residences.

16:00 Shichahai | 1 hour visit Attraction feature: The water town of old Beijing, consisting of Qianhai, Houhai and Xihai lakes. The Silver Ingot Bridge is the landmark. Willows, hutongs and courtyard houses line the lakeside. Stroll along the bank and watch local residents’ daily life. The peaceful lake view is ideal for photos especially in late afternoon. Return to hotel after sightseeing.

Day5 | Shopping & Departure: Hotel Breakfast → Duty Free Shop → Drop-off

08:00 Enjoy hotel breakfast then depart for duty-free shop 09:00 Free time at duty-free shop (3 hours) Shop freely for cosmetics, alcohol, food and souvenirs to bring back home. 12:00 End of tour. Private transfer to airport / railway station for your departure.

Important Travel Notes

1. The Palace Museum is normally closed on Mondays (except public holidays). We will avoid closed dates during booking. Real-name reservation is required for the Palace Museum and Tiananmen Square. Please provide ID documents for all travellers after booking.

2. A large amount of walking is required in scenic spots. Comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. Travellers with seniors or limited mobility may ask the guide for more rest time.

3. Mutianyu cable car / toboggan and Summer Palace boat rides are optional extras with no mandatory purchase.

4. This private tour allows flexible adjustment of visiting time. No forced shopping; the duty-free stop is optional free shopping time.

5. Please keep luggage compact. Strict security checks apply at Tiananmen Square and the Palace Museum; large bags are not easy to bring inside scenic areas.
